BLADDER INFLAMMATION
Most common urinary tract infection
Cystitis, also known as urinary tract infection (UTI), is one of the most common health conditions affecting both women and men.
Bladder infections can lead to symptoms such as burning when urinating, constant urination and lower abdominal pain. Although most bladder infections are harmless and go away within a few days, certain groups of people, such as pregnant women, people with a weakened immune system or kidney disease, are at an increased risk of a complicated course.
In most cases, bacteria are the main cause of bladder infections. They pass through the urethra into the bladder and cause an infection there. Other causes of bladder infections are far less common. Risk factors include female gender, frequent sexual intercourse, certain contraceptives, excessive personal hygiene and hormone treatments.
Complaints
Frequent urination, weak urine stream, constant urge to urinate or other complaints do not have to be the case and can usually be remedied by simple examinations and therapies.
